My Story:
My journey into nutrition and wellness began with a deep desire to help people live healthier, fuller lives as a registered dietitian. But when my 17-year-old daughter was diagnosed with a rare cancer and after a heartbreaking nine-month battle, I was even more motivated to learn more and help others desperately looking for answers to heal and thrive using nutrition and lifestyle medicine.

My personal and profound loss of my daughter became the driving force behind my mission to learn how to crack the code on wellness, fight cancer and heart disease head on. I wanted to find the proof that food was medicine. I wanted to research the best way to turn on our body's natural health defense with food and daily habits.

I went on to pursue my doctoral training in Clinical Nutrition at Rutgers University with the goal to learn the science of food as medicine and daily habits to fight disease. I became a nutrition scientist and clinician out to discover the 10 life-changing foods and 10 game-changing daily habits that make the biggest impact on turning on our body's natural health defense.

Next I saw the need to create a self-guided tool to help people redesign their wellness routine and out of it came

I had learned firsthand that when faced with a new scary diagnosis, we quickly become ready and willing to make the most extreme life-changing habits—but why is it many need to wait for that wake-up call to ready to invest in what matters most -- their own health. People fear they have to give up everything they love and start eating boring tasteless food and spend endless hours at the gym. Unless people have a pain point or want to lose weight, they will typically not seek care from a nutritionist or nutrition doctor.

I became determined to motivate people to invest in their health before a crisis and provide care beyond another restrictive diet. I also wanted to help those already navigating a diagnosis with a plan to fight disease head on.

My mission was to use food as medicine and turn food and lifestyle habits into powerful tools for prevention, healing, and treatment of preventable diseases.
